TK Maxx
Over the past year Mercia has been carrying out IT training at a TK Maxx Distribution Centre in Wakefield. The group was made up of staff from different areas of the business, the training took place over two days every fortnight and was delivered in classes of between 6 and 7 learners at a time. Training was based around classroom exercises, identifying skills gaps and gathering work based evidence.
Due to the seasonal nature of the business, the training and delivery at TK Maxx had to be flexible and adaptable. Mercia found that the model worked extremely well and 34 staff achieved their IT User NVQ at level 2.
