IT Foundation Apprenticeships
Full time programme aimed at young people living in Greater Merseyside aged 16-24.
The programme is designed for those who wish to work within an IT technical environment, supporting networked systems.
Learners will attend the Mercia Academy based in Huyton, Liverpool for 30 hours per week; Monday – Friday.
Travel costs will be reimbursed weekly upon proof of receipts and satisfactory attendance. Some learners may be eligible for an Education Training Allowance (EMA). Further information can be obtained at www.direct.gov.uk/ema
Upon successful completion, a learner will gain the following qualifications:
- NVQ – Level 2 IT Professional Practitioner Award (City & Guilds 4324-02)
- Key Skills - Communication Level 1 and Application of Number Level 1
Additional qualifications, support and development:
As an apprentice, you will also have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications and development that includes:
- 12 weeks initial training programme at our academy where basic IT knowledge and understanding is developed / reinforced.
- 3-6 month placement opportunity with an employer in an IT environment to gain hands-on practical experience within an IT support role.
- European Computer Driving License (ECDL) qualification - a nationally recognised qualification
- Business Skills - including: working with others; telephone skills; CV writing; customer service and interview techniques etc.
