A flexible qualification in IT, for IT Users and IT Technicians.
ITQ (User)
ITQ has been designed by employers to meet the needs of today's businesses. No two organisations are the same. The way they use IT is different; the IT skills of each employee are different. ITQ/SVQ for IT Users will ensure that employers get the right person for the right job by equipping individuals with relevant and effective IT user skills.
Mercia Partnership delivers the ITQ on many employers' premises. We help people improve their skills and assess them to National Standards certified by City & Guilds.
The ITQ User qualification covers a variety of topics including:
- Operations a computer
- Word Processing
- Spreadsheets
- Internet/Intranet
- Databases
- Bespoke Systems
All NVQ provision now requires the completion of a Level 1/2 Literacy qualification.
ITQ Technician
This qualification enables individuals to maintain IT systems and networks.
The qualification develops the knowledge of the basic aspects of IT system operation. The programme covers a variety of topics including:
- Health and Safety in ICT centres
- Software installation and upgrade
- Customer Care
- System management
- Testing ICT systems
The qualification is competence based and is assessed by the development of a portfolio. Evidence is generated through a range of tasks connected with the job role of the individual.
Delivery and assessment will take place at the learner's place of work complimented by support in our Liverpool City Centre training suite.
