Train to Gain
Train to Gain enables working adults to gain their first full Level 2 qualification and Skills for Life first numeracy and literacy qualification. This includes training towards 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent (such as Skills for Life) and a wide range of other training for low-skilled staff. Wage compensations may also be available for companies with less than 50 employees.
The Train to Gain service has two main components:
Skills Brokerage and Training Delivery.
Skills Brokers work with employers to carry out a full review and analysis of their business to assess what skills the business has now and what might be needed in the future.
The Skills Broker will;
- make recommendations based on the skills analysis and pinpoint the type of training that best meets the needs of the employer and the employees
- select the most appropriate Skills Funding Agency approved training provider to deliver
- determine which qualifications are to be delivered
- agree how and when the training is delivered.
Training providers will;
- work with skills brokers to help identify training needs and appropriate qualifications
- advise skills brokers on the details of how training should be provided
- deliver high quality, flexible training on employer premises
- work with employers to encourage a continuation of staff development.
