Mercia Partnership provides the Learning and Skills Service at HMP Liverpool and HMP Kennet.
At HMP Liverpool we provide services for 500 learners every day. We offer classes in IT, literacy, numeracy, art and media, social and life skills, catering and industrial cleaning. We also provide a range of short courses such as food hygiene, health and safety and drugs awareness. As the service expands, over 1,500 qualifications will be achieved this year at HMP Liverpool.
Mercia also provides the Learning and Skills Service for HMP Kennet. This new Merseyside prison has a range of learning opportunities including construction, catering, ICT, media, business studies and other work-related provision. We work closely with a number of public and private organisations to deliver an innovative service that prepares people for work on completion of their sentence. Uniquely, Mercia also provides a link from prison to community with learners continuing their studies on release.
