Developing Your Workforce

The British economy has taken a significant hit in the global economic recession. Changes to the economic landscape have made it harder for employers to develop their workforce at a sustainable cost while remaining competitive in their industry. Mercia can offer a range of solutions supported by government funding. One example is Apprentices and through this scheme you’ll gain high quality individuals who’ll receive the training and understanding to fit into key roles within your organisation.

Research shows that Apprenticeships are ‘Good for Business’.

•80% of employers who employ apprentices agree they make their workplace
more productive.
•81% of consumers favour using a company which takes on apprentices.
•88% of employers who employ apprentices believe that Apprenticeships lead
to a more motivated and satisfied workforce.
•83% of employers who employ apprentices rely on their Apprenticeships
programme to provide the skilled workers they need for the future.
•The cost of investing in an IT Apprentice was recouped, on average, in 6
months. If the employer retains the Apprentice for a year, they will see a
positive return on their investment.

Mercia Apprenticeships include:

•IT Technician Level 2 and Level 3
•IT User Level 2 and Level 3
•Business Administration Level 2 and Level 3
•Customer Service Level 2 and Level 3
•Supporting Teaching and Learning Level 2 and Level 3
•Team Leading Level 2, Management Level 3

Apprentices train ‘on the job’ while assisting with your organisation’s day-to-day workload and bring in the new skills they acquire while training with Mercia towards nationally recognised qualifications. The next step is to discuss your exact training requirements with us – apprenticeships might just be part of the solution and we have a range of government funding to support your workforce development. Contact Sandra Birchall on 0151 292 9029 to arrange a free discussion and learn about the subsidies available training at work – it can often be free!
